Dissertação/Tese INTERAÇÃO INTRAGUILDA DO PARASITOIDE Trissolcus brochymenae (HYMENOPTERA: PLATYGASTRIDAE) EM OVOS DE Podisus nigrispinus E Podisus sagitta (HEMIPTERA: PENTATOMIDAE) - PPGCF

No controle biológico as relações entre indivíduos do mesmo nível trófico, como a ação de parasitoides sobre predadores, ou vice-versa são conhecidas por interações intraguildas. Tais interações podem, no campo, comprometer o papel de um dos inimigos natuais envolvidos e afetar a eficiência do controle biológico. Avaliou-se a interação intraguilda entre o parasitoide Trissolcus brochymenae (Ashmead, 1881) (Hymenoptera Platygastridae) e ovos de Podisus nigrispinus (Dallas, 1851) e Podisus sagitta (Fabricius, 1794) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae). Foi realizado um bioensaio em duas etapas em arena de preferência para avaliar a escolha e, posteriormente, a biologia do parasitoide nos dois percevejos predadores. Para o teste de preferência foram dispostos tubos eppendorf (1,5 mL), de forma equidistante na parte inferior de potes de plástico de 250mL. Foram ofertados 25 ovos de cada predador para uma fêmea do parasitoide recém acasalada com até 2 dias de vida, durante um período de 24 horas. Na primeira etapa foram analisados os parâmetros preferência hospedeira avaliada pela taxa de parasitismo, emergência e tamanho de ovo. E na segunda, os parâmetros biológicos envolvendo o ciclo ovo- adulto, razão sexual, longevidade e tamanho da tíbia posterior direita. Embora o tamanho dos ovos fosse maior em P. nigrispinus, não houve preferência entre as espécies de percevejos predadores. Também não houve diferenças significativas nos parâmetros biológicos avaliados. A interação intraguilda avaliada não comprometeu a população de percevejos, entretanto uma resposta com maior precisão poderia ser dada avaliando mais gerações no experimento e, também, realizando-o em campo.

In biological control, the relationships between individuals at the same trophic level, such as the action of parasitoids on predators, or vice versa, are known as intraguild interactions. Such interactions can, in the field, compromise the role of one of the natural enemies involved and affect the efficiency of biological control. The intraguild interaction between the parasitoid Trissolcus brochymenae (Ashmead, 1881) (Hymenoptera Platygastridae) and eggs of Podisus nigrispinus (Dallas, 1851) and Podisus sagitta (Fabricius, 1794) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) was evaluated. A two- stage bioassay was carried out in an arena of preference to assess the choice and, subsequently, the biology of the parasitoid in the two predatory stink bugs. For the test of preference, eppendorf tubes (1.5 mL) were arranged, equidistant in the bottom of 250mL plastic pots. Twenty five eggs of each predator were offered to a female of the newly mated parasitoid with up to 2 days of life, during a period of 24 hours. In the first stage, the parameters of host preference were analyzed, evaluated by the rate of parasitism, emergence and egg size. And in the second, the biological parameters of the egg-adult cycle, sex ratio, longevity, and size of the right posterior tibia. Although the size of the eggs was larger in P. nigrispinus, there was no preference among the species of predatory stink bugs. The intraguilt interaction evaluated did not appear to have compromised the bug population, however a more accurate answer could be given by evaluating more generations in the experiment and also performing it in the field.
