ResumoPalavras-chave:
As mudas clonais

AbstractKeywords:
Eucalypts is the most widely cultivated forest species in Brazil and one of the most widely used
in the production of charcoal, cellulose and paper worldwide. The production of vigorous
eucalypts seedlings is essential for the establishment of planted forests and directly influences
implementation costs. Therefore, there is a continuous search for technical innovations that aim
to improve the quality of seedlings while reducing production costs. The use of microorganisms
that promote plant growth, such as ectomycorrhizal fungi and bacteria, appears to be a
promising technology, as it contributes to growth and nutrient cycling. Thus, in order to promote
the development of a new technology that improves the production of eucalypts seedlings and
reduces operating costs, the objective was to evaluate the effects of inoculations with
microorganisms that promote plant growth, ectomycorrhizal fungi and bacteria, on the
production of clonal seedlings of Eucalyptus and Corymbia. Independent experiments were
conducted to evaluate the influence of the D5 and D17 isolates of the ectomycorrhizal fungus
Pisolithus microcarpus on the growth of Eucalyptus clonal seedlings grown in substrate
fertilized with low P content; and to verify the influence of the Exiguobacterium sibiricum and
Pantoea vagans strains on the formation of Corymbia seedlings grown in substrate with two
different levels of nitrogen fertilization. To determine growth promotion, ecophysiological,
nutritional and microbiological aspects of the seedlings were analyzed. The D5 isolate of P.
microcarpus provided Eucalyptus clonal seedlings with survival, height, total chlorophyll
content and dry mass of the aerial part equal to or higher than those of seedlings fertilized with
high P content (High P control). The diameters of seedlings inoculated with P. microcarpus
isolates, alone and simultaneously, were equal to the diameters of seedlings from the High P
control. Fungal reinoculation did not increase ectomycorrhizae in seedlings inoculated with P.
microcarpus isolates. Clonal Corymbia seedlings inoculated with E. sibiricum and P. vagans
strains and fertilized with high N content had greater height and better root ball quality than
seedlings grown in substrate fertilized with high N content without inoculation (Control).
Seedlings fertilized with high N content and inoculated with bacterial strains showed greater
shoot dry mass and greater rooting when inoculated with E. sibiricum and E. sibiricum + P.
vagans, compared to Control seedlings. Fungal isolates were more efficient when inoculated
alone, while bacterial strains stood out in both forms of inoculation. Plant growth-promoting
microorganisms were efficient in promoting rooting and contributing to the growth and
nutrition of Eucalyptus and Corymbia seedlings. However, the benefits of inoculations depend
on the type of isolate and the form of inoculation, whether isolated or simultaneous, in the case
of P. microcarpus. For E. sibiricum and P. vagans strains, the efficacy varies according to the
clone, the form of inoculation and the level of nitrogen fertilization. The isolated inoculation
with D5 of P. microcarpus was the one that contributed the most to the growth of Eucalyptus
seedlings. The inoculation of E. sibiricum and P. vagans, combined with high nitrogen
fertilization, enhances the rooting, growth and nutrition of Corymbia clonal seedlings.
