ResumoPalavras-chave:
As
maior rotação interna de joelho, menor adução e rotação interna de quadril durante a marcha;
tornozelo.
Somente o momento adutor do tornozelo,

AbstractKeywords:
Patellofemoral pain (PFP) is a chronic musculoskeletal disorder, characterized by pain in the
peri- or retropatellar region at times when there is overload on the patellofemoral joint, being
prevalent 2.23 times more in women. The etiology of PFD is multifactorial, but its appearance
is correlated, above all, to biomechanical factors. Research involving kinematics and kinetics
as a tool for evaluating people with PFP, to date, has been analyzed using a discrete variable.
Furthermore, there is no standardization of the functional tasks used to evaluate these women,
which makes it difficult to compare studies and interpret results for clinical practice.
Therefore, investigating a large number of functional tasks, concomitantly with an analysis of
continuous variable data, becomes fundamental. Therefore, the objective of this study was to
investigate whether there is a difference in the kinematics and kinetics of individuals with and
without PFP for functional tasks. This is a cross-sectional study, carried out with forty-two
women aged between 18 and 45 years, who were divided into 2 groups: patellofemoral pain
group (GDF) or control group (CG). The volunteers underwent a kinetic and kinematic
assessment of the following functional tasks: walking, single-leg squats, going up and down
steps. To compare the biomechanical variables of the two groups during the four functional
tasks, Statistical Parametric Mapping (SPM) of the t-value, post-hoc unpaired t-test (α =
0.01), was employed using MATLAB. The SPM of the t value was used to identify the
difference between continuous curves. The results showed that the GDF presented greater
internal rotation of the knee, less adduction and internal rotation of the hip during gait;
exhibited greater eversion of the rearfoot and greater external knee adductor moment during
the single-leg squat; rearfoot eversion when climbing steps; greater eversion of the rearfoot,
greater internal rotation of the knee and hip and greater external ankle adductor moment. For
all tasks, the group with patellofemoral pain showed significant differences. In functional
tasks that require greater overload on the patellofemoral joint, such as squatting, climbing and
descending steps, it was possible to verify these biomechanical changes for a longer period.
Only the ankle adductor moment, during the descent of steps, had a very small range and a
very large data variability
